Faith, Hope and Love...

This year's Easter came and went, we celebrated quite differently than we have in the past because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But what exactly is Easter? One morning I woke up thinking about God's Love. I opened my eyes and the first thought I remembered was "Faith in God will move mighty mountains; fear will turn your molehills into mountains.” That thought traveled to 1John4:18, "There is no fear in love; because perfect love drives out fear: fear has torment..." I remembered God did not give me a spirit of fear, however, what He did give me was, Power, Love, and a Sound mind (2Tim1:7).

• Power to choose His Word every time fear tries to overtake me
• Love because He is Love perfected, He alone will drive out that fear
• Sound mind and a healthy thought life and sense of self

(Note: you are not crazy; God gave you a sound mind!)

Good Friday the day they crucified our Lord, Sunday we remembered Easter Morning - the day He rose from the grave victoriously! I'm reminded that His death was an emotional, physical and spiritual sacrifice. He demonstrated His perfected Love - that same perfected Love that drives out fear. He died so that I would never have to walk in fear again! Therefore, now I have hope that fear will never defeat me - worry, anxiety, depression - will have no rule over me! Through faith, I believe and receive the finished work of the cross - Faith, Hope & Love, but the greatest of these is Love. That is Easter...God is Love!
